Bllast from the Past - We're now RJ Knapp & Honey, but here's what we were up to last year.
We are all just back from the Big Sky Blues Festival in Noxon, Montana. Our thanks to Randy Oxford for having RJ Knapp & The 21st Century Blues Review at his festival this year. Tons of fun with so many great poeple, not to mention all of the other very talented musicians! This festival should be on everybody's list of places to go next year. If you were there this year, give us a shout!
RJ and I (Robin) stayed an extra week to travel around Montana. We visited my brother in Lakeside, just up by Flathead Lake and Kalispell. Beautiful area! Next we went to Glacier Park and rode the Going To The Sun highway, which had recently been opened for the season. The road and traffic at the top were horrible, but that was due to the harsh winter weather and lots of needed upkeep. By the time we got over to the Glacier Park Lodge, we were really ready to kick back and enjoy. The lodge was wonderful to see. There are actual trees, complete with their bark, used as structural supports in the lobby. Quite grand!
We ended up in Libby, Montana on Friday and stayed to enjoy another festival, including the Smokehouse Blues Band (Hi Uncle Dickie and the gang) from Kalispell who rocked the park! They were playing with all of us the weekend before at the Big Sky Blues Festival, so it was great to see them again. Tried to stay and jam with them again on Saturday at the Trout Lake Huckleberry Festival, but no rooms to be had. We headed on home and we are now enjoying our Montana memories.
Come on now, send a note and let us know that you are out there...
